A RUSSIAN ICON OF CHRIST, CIRCA 1900. Christ delivers a blessing and holds a book of gospels open to John 13:34. Overlaid with a silver-gilt machine engraved riza. Hallmarked Moscow 1899-1908 and Cyrillic maker's mark A. C. Contained in a vintage ogee arched shadow box frame (kiot) with hinged door and gold leaf carved wood liner. Overall size (kiot) 15.75 inches (40 cm) x 9.75 inches (24.7 cm).
