A PAIR OF RUSSIAN LACQUER BOXES, KHOLUI AND MSTERA, SIGNED, CIRCA 2002. The first with hinged lid painted with a scene from the Russian fairy tale "Stepan Razin", artist signed in Cyrillic S. Deviatkin and inscribed Kholui, dated and titled. 7.25 inches x 9.5 inches (18.5 x 24.3 cm), height 1.8 inches (4.7 cm). The other with hinged lid painted with a scene from the Russian folk song "The Mother in Law Had Seven Sons in Law", artist signed in Cyrillic Piotr Ilyich and inscribed Mstera. 5.75 inches x 5.75 inches (14.5 x 14.5 cm), height 1.75 inches (4.5 cm). Each contained in original padded issuance box.
