NO MORE COLORED TROOPS IN THE U.S. ARMY HAND DRAWN & COLORED POSTCARD, 1907. Depicting a standing profile of a black officer within a wreath with the caption No more colored troops in the U.S. Army, Act of Congress 1907 and For He's the leader of Battery B below listing of places and dates in which blacks fought for the U.S. Army: Fishers Island 1862, North Platte River 1886, San Juan Hill 1898, Brownsville Texas 1907. Note: This card apparently was produced anonymously and probably one-of-a-kind and is postmarked April 9, 1907 just shortly after Congress passed the 1907 law that black Americans may no longer serve their country in the armed forces. This law was later repealed. Postally used and addressed to Mr. Edward L. Skinner, Attleboro, Mass. Excellent condition. Provenance: Sixto Campano collection to Ken Oden, present owner.
