Carrie Hill was a prominent Alabama artist, born in 1875. She spent the 1920’s traveling and painting throughout Europe. Upon her return to the United States, she divided her time between painting and teaching at her studio until her death in 1957. She is best known for her 1937 mural which depicts several storybook characters including Mother Goose at the Eastlake Public Library in Birmingham.
