A CONTINENTAL GILT-BRONZE, MALACHITE AND JEWEL-MOUNTED CASED INKWELL, 19TH CENTURY, PROBABLY AUSTRIAN. The hinged, lidded, handled urn with foliate swags mounted with carved malachite medallions of Aphrodite riding a serpent and amethyst cabochons on a chased foliate ground. Rising from malachite plinth over laid with a reticulated gilt bronze footed frame with seated putti at each corner. Contained in a moltair fitted casket, losses and dis-repair, 7 inches x 9.5 inches. Overall 9.5 inches x 12 inches x 6.5 inches.
