A RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT AND NIELLOED SNUFF BOX, MOSCOW, 1832. The rectangular conforming form with rounded corners, the hinged lid nielloed with the bronze horsemen statue of Peter the Great in St. Petersburg. The sides nielloed with village scenes and the verso nielloed with a boat on the Neva River. The interior gilded, hallmarked Moscow and dated 1832, with indistinguishable Cyrillic maker's mark and 84 silver standard. Length 3.3 inches (8.6 cm).
