A LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE RUSSIAN SILVER ART NOUVEAU WINE CARAFE, 1ST ARTEL, MOSCOW, 1908-1917. Of tapered cylindrical form, the base banded with copper plated lily leaves and the front with raised Art Nouveau design of water lillies. With hinged lid and copper plated handle. Verso with dedicatory inscription dated 1910. Hallmarked Moscow 1908-1917, and with Cyrillic maker's mark of the 1st Artel and 84 silver standard. Height 13.25 inches (33.5 cm).
