A RUSSIAN ICON OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE HOLY JOHN THE FORERUNNER. At center, John is depicted with a crowd assembled in the Jordan river for baptism by him. Looking on from the rear left are the Sanhedrin and Pharisees. At top center, God the Father delivers a blessing within an arched reserve. The upper margin inscribed "The image of the assembly of the Holy John the Forerunner." 12.5 inches x 10.5 inches (31.5 x 26.5 cm)
