A RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT TRIPTYCH ICON, KHLEBNIKOV. The heavy silver-gilt frame with central ogee arched panel depicting the Iverskaya Mother of God, and the hinged left wing with the Holy Apostle Iakob (James) and on the right, Saint Nicholas. The hinged wings designed to fold over the central image and lock in place with latch. Verso of frame extensively engraved with strapwork and cross forms. Verso of central panel with large cartouche engraved in Old Church Slavonic "Most Holy Mother of God, Save Us." Hallmarked Moscow 1908-1917 and with Cyrillic maker's mark for Khlebnikov beneath the Imperial Warrant, and 84 silver standard. 4.75 inches x 6.3 inches (12 x 16 cm) (open).
