A VERY FINE SEVRES STYLE HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN AND GILT BRONZE LIDDED URN, 19TH CENTURY. The hand painted porcelain scene by John Baptiste Grueze. The obverse depicting a scene of motherhood after a painting by Fragonard and entitled “Dites Donc S’il Vous Plait”. The verso with a pastoral scene and each cartouche contained within raised gilt and scrolled foliate decorated borders surmounted by a well-tooled scrolled acanthus form gilt bronze mounted handles. Artist signed “J.B. Grueze” lower right. Height 27 inches (69 cm).
