A HERMANN GORING ENGRAVED PERSONAL SILVER DINNER FORK, CIRCA 1943. By Emile Puiforcat. As part of a set by the French maker for Hermann Goring's 50th birthday in 1943. The fiddle back dinner fork with maker's hallmarks, engraved on verso with Hermann Goring's personal coat of arms and shield. Weight 3.14 troy ounces. Length 8.25 inches (21 cm). (Unillustrated)

Purportedly obtained during Goring's capture in 1945 by General Patton's chief of staff General Hugh J. Gaffey. Accompanied by an Antique Trader news article dated August 13, 1974 reporting on a benefit auction in which the offered lot was donated to by retired General Gaffey, and purchased by the present owner.
