AN IMPRESSIVE MUGHAL JEWEL ENCRUSTED GOLD MOUNTED IVORY DAGGER, 19TH CENTURY. The polished curved double edged steel blade with central raised rib set in a carved ivory handle profusely inlaid with gold reticulated scroll work mounts heavily embellished with various cut and polished semi-precious gemstones. With original conforming sheath covered on both sides with ornate pierced gold scrolling foliate overlay, set with hinged hangers and with an incorporated smaller ivory handled knife with gem encrusted pommel and quillion and the ricasso with gold inlay. Length 13.5 inches (34 cm).
