A RARE IMPERIAL RUSSIAN EMBROIDERED VELVET FOLIO OF TSAREVICH ALEXI NIKOLAEVICH, CIRCA 1913.  Of rectangular form with expanding sides, the entire body covered in red velvet, verso decorated with a large ornately embroidered bouquet of flowers worked in glass beads and bullion thread. The front with similarly embroidered wreath encircling the letter A beneath an Imperial Crown and between the dates 1613-1913 on the shaped flap cover with metal latch. The interior with old hand written paper Soviet inventory collection label, inscribed in Russian, “Alexandr[ovsky] palace quar[ters] [of] the heir’s classroom. No. 653”. Size 10.1 inches x 14.6 inches (25.5 x 37 cm).
