A FRENCH STERLING AND GILT METAL CHALICE, 19TH CENTURY. Resting on a hexagonal lobed base with deeply beveled raised rim, the base with six reserves, three with grape motif, the others with cross form beneath a long stem with squashed bulbous central node supporting a pierced basket holding a slightly flared tulip form gilded silver cup. Together with silver-gilt paten and burse. The cup and paten with French hallmarks. Height 11.5 inches (29.3 cm).
