A LARGE CHINESE CARVED CALLIGRAPHER'S STONE WITH LID, POSSIBLY 19TH CENTURY. Of shallow circular form, finely carved in relief with dragons and cloud forms, flanked by large extending dragon head handles, each containing loose pearls, below a domed cover with figural dragon finial. In a pale gray colored slate with cream colored circular inclusions. The base with dragon carved circular medallion. Length 15.5 inches (39.5 cm).
