A CHINESE CARVED, GILT ELM WOOD AND LACQUERED PANEL CANOPY BED, PROBABLY 19TH CENTURY. The façade with an enclosed arched opening, inset with multiple deep relief carved scenic panels, accented in gilt, overlaid with pierced scroll carved framework, below a three-tiered carved, reticulated and lacquered shaped cornice with figural terminals and surmounted with a relief carved and pierced crest with central longevity inscription, Buddhist symbols and phoenix birds. The whole raised on a relief carved, gilt and red lacquered stand. The interior finely appointed with nine scenic and floral decorated wood panels, and containing a section of fitted drawers and lift top storage bin. Height 83 inches (211 cm), width 96 inches (244 cm), depth 87 inches (221 cm). Fitted mortise and tenon construction for disassembly.
