AN EXQUISITE RUSSIAN ICON OF THE TIKHVIN MOTHER OF GOD, PROBABLY MSTERA, CIRCA 1900. Finely painted in excruciating miniature detail with extensive chrysography, the background, halos and borders ornately incised and painted to simulate cloisonné enameling. 12 inches x 10.25 inches (30.5 x 26 cm).
