A FINE RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT AND PLIQUE-A-JOUR ENAMELED CARNET DE BAL NOTEPAD, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1890. The hinged covers with plique-a-jour enameled medallion centers banded with turquoise cloisonné beading and leaf tips. The interior opening to reveal the original mostly unused notebook backed in gold moiré silk and with original silver-gilt interlocking mechanical pencil. Hallmarked Moscow, 1890, maker’s mark AK- Antip Kuzmichev and with 88 silver standard. Length 5 inches (12.7 cm).
