AN INTERESTING RUSSIAN PRESENTATION ICON OF SAINT DEMETRIUS OF THESSALONIKI, 1894.  Here Demetrius is depicted atop his white charger striking down the King of the Infidels below him. The borders ornately painted in faux enamel. Verso with lush red velvet displaying dedicatory text embossed in gold lettering, "To our dear and deeply respected priest of St. Dmitri Church in the village of Kurostrovski, Father Alexander Ivanovich Vasiliev, from his most grateful parishioners and former seminarians now living in St. Petersburg on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his ordination given on this day, 8th of August 1894." 12.5 inches x 10.75 inches (31.6 x 27.4 cm).
