A RUSSIAN ICON OF SAINT NICHOLAS, MOSCOW 1890. Here Nicholas delivers a blessing and holds a book of Gospels. Christ at top left presents Nicholas with Gospels and the Virgin, at top right, presents Nicholas with his bishop's stole. Overlaid with a gilded silver repousse and chased riza, hallmarked Moscow, dated 1890, Cyrillic makers mark AP for Andre Postnikov and with 84 silver standard. 12.25 inches x 10.5 inches (31.1 x 26.5 cm).
