A RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT AND CLOISONNÉ ENAMELED COVERED BOX, OVCHINNIKOV, 1882. Resting on four claw and ball feet beneath a twisted rope border, the sides enameled with scrolling foliage on a stippled gilt ground. The lid with large central medallion, the sides set with figural bird form handles. Hallmarked Moscow, dated 1882, 88 silver standard and in Cyrillic P. OVCHINNIKOV beneath the Imperial Warrant. Width 3.75 inches (9.5 cm), height 2.5 inches (6.5 cm).
