A VERY FINE CONTINENTAL CARVED MARBLE, MOTHER OF PEARL, AND GUILLOCHE ENAMELED, GILT AND SILVERED METAL TAZZA, 19TH CENTURY. Well sculpted and cast in the form of 18th century European depictions of North American Indians below a spreading palm tree, one with infant and mother of pearl inlaid torso atop a rockery gilt metal base with conforming irregular mother of pearl inserts, the second figure shown climbing the trunk with a third surmounting the extending guilloche enameled palm fronds above an oval shaped Breche d’alep marble coupe. Apparently unmarked, height 11 inches (28 cm).
