A VERY FINE CARVED IVORY BUST OF LOUISE, AFTER THE ORIGINAL BY EDUARD HOUSSIN (FRENCH 1847- 1917). Raised on a lapis lazuli plinth. Inscribed lower right "E. Houssin Paris". The verso inscribed 301.

This bust represents Louise Demont at age six. Louise was the daughter of the painter and friend of Houssin, Adrien Demont, her maternal grandfather was Jules Breton. She later married Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse's grandson, Albert Ball.
