A FRENCH CARVED IVORY DIPTYCH SPHERE, 18TH CENTURY. Well hollowed with scenes carved in deep relief. The left section depicting the an Aposlte aiding a reclining figure. The right section depicting the house house of Mary and Martha. Inscribed indistinguishably left section lower right. The exterior carved with gadrooned rim and acanthus scrolls, probably a prisoner of war piece. Diameter 2.125 inches (5.3 cm) closed, length 4.125 inches (10.5 cm) open.
