A VERY FINE AND SCARCE RUSSIAN KUSTAR POLYCHROME CHILD’S SLED, DATED 1914 Of rectangular form with raised prow painted with galloping horse and constructed of wood and hand wrought metal runners and brackets. The seat with six recessed panels and the front rest and side rails all colorfully and overall painted with flowers, scrolling foliage and birds. The top rail inscribed in Russian, "1914 January 29th". Overall length 29.25 inches (74.4 cm), width 11.3 inches (29 cm), height 11.25 inches (28.5 cm).
