A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PLATE FROM THE SERVICE FOR THE IMPERIAL ORDER OF ST. ALEXANDER NEVSKY, GARDNER PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY, VERBILKI, CIRCA 1778-1780. The cavetto center finely painted with the breast star of the Order inside a gilt scalloped border painted with the Order’s moiré silk red sash from which is suspended the cross-form badge of the Order. Underside with dark blue underglaze G factory mark as well as old Sotheby's Parke Bernet lot sticker. Diameter 9.3 inches (23.5 cm).
