A RUSSIAN DATED PRESENTATION ICON OF THE POKROV MOTHER OF GOD, 1897. Executed in the western style on an ornately incised gilt field within a framework of faux champlevé enamel boarders. The verso with dedicatory inscription written in Russian reading, "To the resurrection Church at the Petersburg Asylum of the Sergiev fraternity from N.A.P. in perpetual memory of Olga Pavlovna Polivanov 21st November 1897". 12.25 inches x 10.5 inches (31 x 26.7 cm).
