AN ORNATE STERLING SILVERED AND GILT METAL TOWER-FORM CIBORIUM, 19th century. The raised base with pierced quatrefoil rim, large central node supporting an ornate gilt metal pierced basket of scrolling grapevines holding a gilded sterling bowl and mounted with a crown-form lid with reticulated rim and Gothic tower form finial set with cross. Overall height 12 inches. Together with a gilded brass and sterling chalice, 19th century. The domed base lightly chased and repoussed with grape and wheat motifs. The central inverted pear-shaped node similarly decorated and supporting a simple gilded silver bowl. With faint dedicatory inscription dated 1863. Overall height 9.25 inches. Estimate $600-$900
