FRENCH AND AMERICAN MEDALS, CIRCA 1820-1890. Comprising two framed gilded U.S. Mint War of 1812 Naval medals the first depicting Captain James Lawrence on obverse and verso with naval battle between the USS Hornet and HMS Peacock, artist FURST, the second depicting Commandant Oliver H. Perry (obverse) and verso with a scene of based on the battle of Lake Erie, also artist signed FURST F. Both measuring 66mm in diameter and both nicely framed accompanied by hand colored portraits. Together with a large frame mounted with eight French bronze medals depicting Gerard Audran dated 1822 and artist F. Petit ., Ch. Ferdinand Duc De Berry dated 1820 artist F. Gayrard, Pierre Corneille dated 1816 artist E. Gatteaux, Esprit Flechier dated 1820, artist F. Domard, Alexis Piron dated 1817 artist Masson, C. G. Lamoignon Malesherbes dated 1819, artist F. Galle, Gerard Edelinck dated 1824 artist E. Gatteaux, Eustache Le Sueur dated 1828 artist F. Leclerec, each measuring approximately 41mm in dimater. Also a bronze table medal for the Paris Universal Exposition of 1889 by Daniel Dupuis, 64mm. Together with a frame grouping consisting of three large bronze medallions including Maria Magdalena of Austria (87mm), Louis XIII King of France after Dupre (60mm), Louis XIII after Warin (60mm), together with a French Medal of the Legion of Honor and a French silver Societe Canine medal, F. Cariat (50mm).
