A RICHARD NIXON, VICE PRESIDENTIAL LETTER SIGNED, FEBRUARY 1960.  Typed "Dear Miss McElligatt: As you may have noted, there have been several newspaper stories to the effect that January 9th was an especially significant date in my life because it was the day that I indicated my willingness to have my name entered in the New Hampshire, Ohio and Oregon presidential primaries. I can assure you, however, that there was no more heartwarming aspect of that day as far as I was concerned than to receive your message of friendship and good wishes for my 47th birthday. It was most thoughtful of you to remember me, and I wanted you to know of my appreciation. With every good wish, Sincerely Richard Nixon" signed lower right accompanied with an Office of the Vice President envelope.
