A COLLECTION OF 36 CARTE D'VISITE AND 1/6 PLATE TINTYPE PORTRAITS, 19TH CENTURY.  The majority unique or better images including a Washington and Lincoln (HPOTHEOSIS); a young boy in colonial dress with American flag, inscribed in margin "Willy, 1776" with studio stamp of "A.H. Halls, Chatsworth, Illinois"; a little black girl in wicker chair; a young boy with lamb; two portraits with printed titles "Ira D. Sankey" and "Dwight M. Moody"; a portrait of James Malley and five portraits of distinguished gentlemen, possibly statesmen, with photographer's backstamps including Gardner, Mendenhall and Tyrell; plus other images. 21 contained in a period leather pocket album, together with a leather cased notebook gilt inscribed "My Trip", circa 1900 with 13 handwritten pages describing a train trip east.
