A PAIR OF RUSSIAN ICONS, 19TH CENTURY. Comprising an icon of Christ the Lord Almighty, overlaid with a machine engraved silver riza stamped with 84 silver standard and indistinguishable maker's marks, 9 inches x 7 inches (23 x 17.5 cm) and contained in an ogee arched shadowbox frame (kiot) with glazed hinged door, overall height 19.6 inches (50 cm). Together with an icon depicting the parents of the Virgin, Saints Anna and Joachim, measuring 10.5 inches x 8.75 inches (27 x 22 cm) and contained in a shadowbox frame (kiot) with gilt liner and glazed hinged door, height 15.75 inches (40 cm).
