A RUSSIAN SILVER & MALACHITE 3-PIECE DESK SET the malachite base formed by three interlocking circles with beveled edges and resting on bun feet. The front set with an elaborate silver cartouche with Cypher and dated 1907. At center a pierced column base collar with bell flowers and acanthus. Inside a plinth with swags and bows containing a glass liner and with stepped cover with nielloed globe finial with geographical locations in Cyrillic. On the left a servants bell, on the right a covered container of classical form decorated with acanthus. The matching two-light candle stands resting on stepped malachite bases with bun feet and supporting ornate arms of scrolling foliage. Marked Moscow circa 1880 and with indistinct Cyrillic maker's mark, possibly "*.O." Exquisite! Height of candlesticks 9.5 inches (24 cm). Height of primary fixture 9.25 inches (23.5 cm), width 16.4 inches (41.7 cm). Estimate $20,000-$30,000
