A RUSSIAN SILVER MOUNTED TRIPTYCH The hinged triptych case heavily
engraved with strapwork and scrolling foliage. The central panel
depicting "The Holy Equal-to-the Apostles Prince Vladimir" and set with
two cabochons. The left wing with Saint Kornily and the right wing with
Saint Gregory. The base engraved to "Vladimir Kornilivich Sokolov, Shtabs
Captain, Izmailovski Regiment, and dated August 3, 1914". (See
illustration below). Marked with Cyrillic initials N.B., assay mark of
St. Petersburg circa 1908-1917, and with suspension loop top verso.
