RUSSIAN IMPERIAL PORTRAITS circa 1810. A bound volume of "A Collection of Twenty-Four Portraits of the Imperial Family" - After the Paintings by Henri Benner, who obtained permission from his majesty the Emperor to have the portraits engraved - "St. Petersburg - M. Saint-Florent and Moscow - M. Rosentrauch." Circa 1810. Consisting of 24 bound sheets each measuring 16.5 inches x 11.25 inches (42 cm x 28.5 cm) and each engraved with a portrait measuring approximately 7 inches x 6 inches (17.7 cm x 15.4 cm) and each portrait engraved with the sitters name and title first in Russian and then in French. Original marble paper boards with loose spine. Each sheet intact with no tears, deckled edges and scattered toning and spotting, in most cases outside the image area. The blank titled page with owners signature of "James Whatman". Estimate $750-$1,000
