A PAIR OF EXCEPTIONAL CARVED WOOD PANELS Continental 18th or 19th
century. At the base a lion with shield beneath a credenza supporting an
urn flanked by birds and overflowing with fruit beneath a winged cherub
head, an oval reserve with a man's head (left) and woman's head (right),
further still a garland of grapes beneath a clam shell supporting an urn
with 2 winged griffins from which rises a nest of birds beneath carved
florals. Exquisite! Height 44 inches (112 cm), width 5.5 inches (14 cm).
