A GROUP OF FIVE RUSSIAN ICONS. Comprising an icon of Christ as the Lord Almighty overlaid with a machine engraved silver-gilt riza hallmarked Moscow, dated 1895, Cyrillic maker’s mark NS and 84 silver standard, contained in a later glazed shadowbox frame, icon size 8.8 inches x 7 inches (22.5 x 18 cm); an icon of the Kazan Mother of God, overlaid with a machine engraved silver riza hallmarked Moscow, dated 1882, indistinguishable Cyrillic maker’s mark and 84 standard, contained in a later glazed shadowbox frame, icon size 8.8 inches x 7 inches (22.5 x 18 cm); also an icon of St. Nicholas overlaid with a machine engraved gilt metal riza contained in a velvet lined frame, the icon 10.25 inches x 8.6 inches (26 x 22 cm); an icon of Christ as the Lord Almighty overlaid with a machine engraved silver plated riza and contained in a shaped shadowbox frame with losses, overall height including frame 11.25 inches (28 cm); and a tin lithograph icon of the Chernigov Mother of God dated 1897 and contained in a shadowbox frame in poor condition, the icon 7 x 5.6 inches (17.5 x 14 cm).
