AN INTERESTING HAND ILLUMINATED BOUND CHURCH CALENDAR, GERMAN, 1923. Comprising a velum covered book with 48 hand illuminated pages beginning with an elaborate frontice piece inscribed in German "Calendar for the year 1923" and opening to reveal four pages, each representing a season followed by month headings listing the feast days of various saints and events, and depicting interspersed throughout images of various saints and Holy Days. Each page measuring 13.75 inches x 10 inches (34.5 x 25.5 cm). The last illuminated page depicting an image presumably of the artist and inscribed in German "This book written by Gertrud Vogt in Kassel Im Herbst MCMXXIII." Likely a graphics art assignment for an art student.
