The inner border embroidered with the troparion of the day: “The noble Joseph took down thy most pure body from the cross and did wrap it in linen with fine spices and laid it in the tomb...” At the corners are images of the Four Evangelists and the borders heavily embroidered with vines interspersed with Seraphim and Cherubim.
