AN ITALO-CRETAN ICON OF THE ADORATION OF THE MAGI, 17TH CENTURY. On the right, the Mother of God cradling the infant Christ who blesses one of the three Magi, kneeling before him with his gift of gold as the other two, shown in the background, raise their gifts in presentation. Behind the Virgin, St. Joseph stands in attendance, and in the upper left, the Star of Bethlehem. Contained in an 18th century wood and gilt decorated frame. 9.5 inches x 8 inches (24 x 20.4 cm).
