A RUSSIAN ICON OF ST. NICHOLAS, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1900. Overlaid with a silver-gilt Art Nouveau style riza (possibly later) with applied scrolling foliage decorated with bell flowers and the halo similarly chased. Hallmarked for Moscow, circa 1908-1917, Cyrillic maker's mark DS possibly for Dmitri Smirnov. 12.3 inches x 10.5 inches (31.5 x 27 cm).
