A VERY FINE CARVED IVORY FIGURAL GROUPING OF ST. JOSEPH AND THE INFANT CHRIST, NAPLES, 17TH/18TH CENTURY. Finely carved in three quarters round with good proportions and anatomy including veining. The clothing carved with deep folds and the heads rendered with open mouths and finely executed hair and beard. Set on an ornately carved pierced based on rocaille scrolls and set on a later velvet covered display stand. Height 10 inches (25.5cm).
