On August 6th-9th, 1903, Tsar Nicholas II and the Empress visited Pskov. While there, the Tsar inspected the many troops who had been participating in the on-going military maneuvers in the region as well as visited the Holy Trinity cathedral, the Morozhski Monastery and toured the city of Pskov which was celebrating its 1,000th anniversary. The menu then reflects the “breakfast” that the Tsar and the Empress partook while reviewing the troops near Pskov on August 8, 1903.
