A GROUP OF FOUR IVAN BILIBIN ILLUSTRATED FIRST EDITION FOLK TALES, ST. PETERSBURG 1901-1903.  Comprising four Skazi (Tales), illustrated throughout with chromolithographs. Including, Sister Alyonushka and Brother Ivanuskka, the White Duck, Ivan and the Firebird and the Grey Wolf, and two copies of the Princes and the Frog. St. Petersburg: Expedition for the Preparation of Government papers, 1901-1903. Size 12.8 x 10.1 inches (325 x 255 mm).

Folk Tales illustrated by Ivan Bilibin (1876-1942) are among the most famous children's books both within and outside of Russia. One of the nation's most influential illustrators, Bilibin first came to prominence when some of these folklore illustrations were shown in the Mir Iskusstva exhibition.
