A RUSSIAN ICON OF THE VLADIMIR MOTHER OF GOD, 19TH CENTURY. Painted in the Western style and overlaid with a silver and gold plated engraved and repoussé metal riza with applied halo. 12.3 inches x 10.5 inches (31.5 x 26.5 cm). Together with a Russian style icon of the crucifixion, last quarter 20th century. Comprising a cast metal repoussé style riza type icon set with a gilt crucifix at center, flanked by angels and above, God the Father. Below on the left, the two Marys and on the right the Apostle John and the Roman Centurion Longinus. 12.25 inches x 10.25 inches (31 x 26.4 cm).
