A LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE RUSSIAN ICON OF SELECTED SAINTS, 18TH CENTURY. At top center above billowing clouds, Christ delivers a blessing, and below, six full length images of various saints, from left to right they are: the Holy Archangel Gabriel, the Holy Martyr Sophia with her three daughters, Vera, Nedezhda and Lyubov, and the Holy Michael Metropolitan of Kiev. Of exceptional painterly quality with excellent detailing and minute shading throughout, and in an excellent state of original preservation. 17.5 inches x 14 inches (44.5 x 35.5 cm).
