AN I.P. KAYSER AND SOHN DORE BRONZE SHELL SPECIMEN PORTRAIT CHARGER, CIRCA 1890. The center finely inlaid with the portrait of a young woman in ornate dress and plummed hat, in various multi-toned colored and textured shell specimens including tortoise, mother of pearl, abalone and other types, on a stippled Dore ground, within a finely chaised border of patinated bronze acanthus scrolls reserved on a tooled scrolled plume ground. Signed lower center "I.P. Kayser Sohn Crefeld," the verso stamped "Corviniello Patent." Diameter 13.125 inches (33.3 cm).
