A RUSSIAN FEAST DAY ICON, MSTERA, CIRCA 1900. Divided into nine equal reserves, each illustrating a different scene or image. From top to bottom, left to right, they include: The Baptism of Christ, The Entrance Into Jerusalem, The Transfiguration, The Dormition, The Blessed Silence (BLAGOE MOLCHANIE), The Raising of Lazarus, The Venerable Moses the Moor, the Prophet Elijah and Vinophantiy, The Exaltation of the Cross, The Venerable Sergiy, St. Antipas and the Venerable Paisius. The backgrounds in various graduated shades as typically found on Mstera icons. Verso of icon tinted in green. 8.25 inches x 6.5 inches (21 x 16.5 cm).
