A VERY FINE RUSSIAN ORNAMENTAL PORCELAIN PLATE, KUZNETSOV, CIRCA 1900. The central reserve depicting a finely painted noble knight (bogatyr) and the rim with painted strapwork against a gilt ground and with embossed edge. The portrait identified by the gilt Cyrillic inscription encircling the figure as, 'The Renown Russian Heroic Knight-Stavr Godinovich'. The underside of plate with impressed factory mark and number 15 as well as being marked with an ornate gilt stamp of Kuznetsov beneath the Imperial Warrant, and the underside of rim also gilded. Dimater 8 inches (20cm).
