AN IMPRESSIVE IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SILVER MOUNTED CORONATION FOLIO, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1883. The large rectangular folio covered with blue velvet. The front cover set with a silver repousse and chased crown above crossed sword and gilded silver scepter and the date 1883. The borders with silver strapping and the corners with open fretwork with chased details and set with ornate gilded silver crowns and the back cover set with four silver diamond-shaped feet. The interior lined in white moirE silk. Hallmarked Saint Petersburg, circa 1883, and makers mark G.B. Obviously produced for the occasion of the coronation of Tsar Alexander II in 1883. 22.75 inches x 17 inches (57.5 cm x 44cm).
